Photoshoot with DJ Lawrence Lee
Law is a good friend and we had a great time doing this shoot, really laid back and casual and he allowed me to experiment and try a whole bunch of different styles. I really like the photos with the multiple exposures, let me know what you think in the comments.

Sebago Footwear Ad Behind the Camera
You can view the final images that I selected from this shoot here. I wanted to show a few images of what happens behind the camera and how we get to the final selection of images.
I few things that I knew going into this were that I wanted to shoot by the water while the sun was setting. I did some location scouting on the west side and thought that this concrete pier would be perfect.

After the hair makeup and styling were done. We got on location and I started playing around with the light. Trying a few different things and just experimenting for a few minutes.

This is one of the first images that I shot. Even though I liked the dramatic nature and contrast of it, it wasn’t the right look for the ad. I did a few more tests and finally decided on a feel. And this is it :

I was very happy with the lighting and the way the colors looked so we started shooting away. Shot hundreds of photos in a short amount of time. After a while I knew that I had gotten the shot but there was no harm in continuing to shoot and try a few more things. Some of the ideas worked and some of them were a huge fail, which I am not ashamed to show. Here are a few photos that just bombed :

Yeah…the whole sitting and running idea did not work at all. But again, no harm in trying things.
I had an awesome crew to help me out on this shoot. I wanna thank Jillian, Zoila, Ammar, Vick and Ali for being so professional and contributing to making this shoot a success.

There were two other images that didn’t make the final edit but I liked them a lot (these are raw images, not retouched) :

And finally this is the images that Sebago ended up running in its ad :

“F*%k You” By Mazzi and Sneakas directed by Va$htie Kola
Best friends Sneakas (Jewish) and Mazzi (Muslim) create a song about the Israeli – Palestinian conflict.
The video was directed by Va$htie and I was brought is at the director of photography.
Music Video // Outlandish : Let Off Some Steam
I recently had the pleasure of working as a DP (Director of Photography) on a music video for Outlandish with director Ridwan Adhami. The final product looks great!
I am usually so used to working on a video from start to finish and dealing with the pressures of pre-production > shooting > editing etc.. so it was nice to just walk on a set, do what I do, and let the rest of the team take it from there.
Melo-X : Audio Foreplay Mixtape Cover
I shot Melo-x’s Audio Foreplay Mixtaple cover. It was actually a really fun shoot at the Vane NYC Store on Rivington.
Caterpillar Look Book Shoot : Behind the Scenes
A couple of weeks back I shot the Caterpillar Fall Winter 2010 Look Book. We rented an RV packed the whole team into it and made the best out of the rainy day. I want to thank everyone who participated in the shoot and made it a huge success (See below for credits)

On Set: “Itis” Music Video Shoot
I’m very excited to share that I had the pleasure of directing the music video for Itis by Jesse Boykins III. This is my first music video and I am very proud of the end product. It will be premiering on BETJ tomorrow, stay tuned.
Here is some photos & footage from the set.

I am Muslim, I am American
Recently I had the pleasure of working with CAIR-NY while photographing a campaign called “I am Muslim, I am American” which would be on display in Time Sq, NYC.
We literally had no time for production. Everything was conceived and shot in 2 hours. The following are the photos I managed to get.
The photos are up in Time Sq now, 42nd bet 7th and 8th. below the CBS eye & above Cold Stone. I am probably going to head there today to get some footage and photos.
